I'm working on a (slightly hobbled by IT policies) iMac running 10.6 Snow Leopard. I've repeatedly tried to install pip (as a precursor to installing csvkit but am confused by following error messages: smg-02639: matmo$ pip install csvkit Usage: pip COMMAND OPTIONS pip: error: No command by the name pip install (maybe you meant 'pip install csvkit') That should be enough to explain why I'm aggrieved. What am I doing wrong? For the sake of perhaps unnecessary completeness, here's the install sequence: smg-02639: matmo$ sudo easyinstall pip Searching for pip Best match: pip 1.1 Adding pip 1.1 to easy-install.pth file Installing pip script to /usr/local/bin Installing pip-2.6 script to /usr/local/bin Using /Library/Python/2.6/site-packages Processing dependencies for pip Finished processing dependencies for pip smg-02639: matmo$ pip help Usage: pip COMMAND OPTIONS pip: error: No command by the name pip help (maybe you meant 'pip help').
I'm trying to install Social Engineering Toolkit (S.E.T) on OS X Lion. In a vanilla Lion installing Social Engineering Toolkit works if you use git clone cd social-engineer-toolkit sudo python setup.py install (which will install some necessary tools/libraries to /Library/Python/2.7/site-packages). After 'installing' the toolkit use sudo./setoolkit to start the SE Toolkit.
.UPDATED FOR QGIS 2.16 – 07 Oct 2016. is an impressively powerful open source geographic information system (GIS). In 2010, when it had an “All-In-One” installation bundle for the Mac. That one-step installation has gone by the wayside, and while QGIS is an excellent GIS solution for Mac users, installation is much more of a chore. As a software developer myself, I can only imagine the installation process discourages use by the average consumer (and by average, I mean moderately sophisticated GIS users). If you’re in that camp, this guide is for you it provides (without warranty) a step-by-step guide to successfully install the supporting frameworks and the QGIS software. These instructions are for QGIS 2.16 built for Mac OS X Mountain Lion, Mavericks, Yosemite, El Capitan, and (hopefully) MacOS Sierra.
Installing QGIS on a Mac Step One: Honesty Installing most software on a Mac is easy, but installing QGIS on a Mac is a pain (though it is getting easier with each release!)¹. I’ve stumbled through it a couple of times now. There are supporting frameworks that must be installed first, and in a particular order, before the QGIS installation can begin. If you try installing QGIS before installing the supporting frameworks, you’ll likely see an error message like this. Old files may not be deleted by the installer, which may cause problems for QGIS2.16 In summary, the following download is required:.
Download. There is no need to download and install these frameworks individually if this package is installed. All required items are included on the disk image, which includes:.
GDAL Complete.pkg (installs framework package). NumPy.pkg (installs python module). Matplotlib.pkg (instalsl python module).

Install QGIS.pkg (installs the app!) The Real 10 8 Steps STEP 1. To allow installation of non-Apple developer recognized software, first change your Mac Security Preferences to ‘Allow apps downloaded from: Anywhere’. You now have a sophisticated GIS software to learn and enjoy. Depending on your needs, you might even want to add some of the QGIS Plugins. Your almost done!

To finish things off you should do the following: a. Change your Mac Security Preferences back to ‘Allow apps downloaded from: Mac App Store and Identified Developers’ (or Mac App Store only). Save the QGIS.dmg files, since they each contain uninstall instructions should you ever need them.
¹ Software isn’t always easy. I really appreciate the great work of good folks who support this open source (and free) software. The main release packages for QGIS for Mac are maintained by Kyngchaos, aka William Kyngsburye. (thank you!) Tags:,. Hi Oana, Thanks for the heads up.
I just checked my laptop that is running MacOS Sierra 10.12. As you point out, the Security & Privacy option that allows you to install apps “from anywhere” is no longer available. Watch dji naza m v2 assistant software for mac pro.

According to MacWorld this change only affects people with the public beta of MacOS Sierra. I’m running the developer beta and do see the same thing. MacWorld says, “When Apple released the final version of Sierra, it reverted the settings back to the way it works in El Capitan.” The article provides two ways to open apps downloaded by unidentified developers. I’ll be providing an update to my instructions to accommodate this change in MacOS. I hope that helps!
Id did not use pip but extracted it manually and afterwards added the path to that folder. Try creating a new file 'exiftools.pth' in the folder 'C: Program Files QGIS Wien apps Python27 Lib site-packages' (or any other folder that is configured within the QGIS python-path environement) with just one line of text containing the path to the folder where your exiftool files are located.
You may need admin privileges to do so. In my case that file would contain the following line: C: Program Files QGIS Wien apps Python27 Lib site-packages. Restart QGIS for an update of the pythonpath environement.
About QGIS QGIS is an Open Source Geographic Information System. The project was born in May of 2002 and was established as a project on SourceForge in June of the same year.
We've worked hard to make GIS software (which is traditionally expensive commercial software) a viable prospect for anyone with basic access to a Personal Computer. QGIS currently runs on most Unix platforms (macOS/OS X included) and Windows. QGIS is developed using the Qt toolkit and C. This means that QGIS feels snappy to use and has a pleasing, easy to use graphical user interface. QGIS aims to be an easy to use GIS, providing common functions and features.

QGIS has reached that point in its evolution and is being used by many for their daily GIS data viewing and editing needs. QGIS supports a number of raster and vector data formats, with new support easily added using the plugin architecture. QGIS is released under the GNU Public License (GPL) Version 2 or above. Developing QGIS under this license means that you can (if you want to) inspect and modify the source code and guarantees that you, our happy user will always have access to a GIS program that is free of cost and can be freely modified.
